What is Reverse Osmosis (RO)?

Reverse Osmosis (RO) is the most effective filtration technology available. The RO process works by separating contaminants from water by forcing the water through a semi-permeable membrane. This membrane acts as a physical barrier to almost all molecules with a molecular weight greater than 200 grams/mole.

For example, the membrane may allow passage of water molecules, but blocks molecules of dissolved salt or other harmful contaminants. Unwanted molecules are blocked and discarded by the membrane while the ultra-pure water continues on for use or further treatment.

This process takes any unwanted molecules retained by the membrane and sweeps them away to your drain. This filtration process prevents the membrane’s surface from clogging, thus allowing the filter to last long.

What are the advantages of RO?

1. Health: Reverse Osmosis (RO) removes harmful contaminants while retaining some good minerals, which is beneficial to health and makes water taste fresh.

2. Environmental Benefits: RO can reduce glass and plastic waste, because there is no need for plastic water bottles, the production of which creates air, water and soil pollution as well as uses non-renewable oil byproducts. What’s more, some high quality RO models are also more energy and water efficient than other water filter systems.

3. Cost Saving: Compared with bottled water for a whole office, RO systems usually save more money in the long term. Also, RO systems avoid and reduce administration time and labor costs.

4. Quality: Compared with the bottled water which has been stored for a long time, RO systems provide fresher, cleaner water. Life Solutions RO systems have largely been chosen because they effectively and efficiently filter dirty water, and they reliably provide safe, clean drinking water for our clients.

Why do Billi water filtration systems also have an additional Life Solutions RO system in China?

The government has made great progress in its efforts to prevent and manage various kinds of waste that cause water pollution in China, including in relation to groundwater, surface water and drinking water. However, once this source water enters the municipal piping systems the water in most Chinese cities becomes unsafe to drink once it leaves the original source.

Our high-quality water filtration systems have been CCC (China Compulsory Certification) certified by the CNCA (Certification Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China). Our imported models and fittings have also been certified in their country of origin to meet product quality, safety and environmental sustainability criteria, e.g. NSF water filter certification.

Life Solutions RO systems remove 99% of contaminants, including heavy metals, pesticides, viruses and bacteria, giving you clean and healthy drinking water. The combination of both a Billi system and a Life Solutions RO system ensures that even highly polluted water is clean and safe after it has gone through the filtration process.

We also offer you full servicing and maintenance, undertaken by our trained in-house technicians. This ensures that filters are replaced when they need to be, and clients have safe, clean, water – whether they have a premium Billi system or one of our classic models, like an H2Office or LANA.

How soon after paying for my energy efficient Life Solutions system can I start saving money on water consumption?

The product payback period will depend on the size of the water filtration system, the type of system and other important factors. On average, all our systems will take no longer than 18 months for you to realise savings when compared to plastic bottle water.
