World Health Day丨How unsafe drinking water affects human health?

World Health Day is an annual event that is celebrated on April 7th. The day is set aside to create awareness of various health issues and to encourage people to make healthier choices. The event is organized by the World Health Organization (WHO), a specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for international public health.

Especially on World Health Day, the hazards of drinking unsafe water are being emphasized.

How do these impact human health?

According to a survey by the World Health Organization (WHO), 80% of diseases and 50% of child deaths worldwide are related to poor drinking water quality. A well-known magazine reported that nearly 25% of Chinese people are drinking water that does not meet hygienic standards.1

Water contains pollutants, including organic pollutants and disinfection by-products from chlorination, which can persist for extended periods and pose significant harm to long-term exposed populations. The chronic toxicity of these pollutants is particularly noteworthy. Out of 2221 organic chemical pollutants detected in water globally, 765 are present in tap water. Among them, 20 are known carcinogens, and 23 are suspected carcinogens.2

The United Nations Health Organization’s estimate indicates that at present, 25% of the population experiences illnesses due to water contamination,3 which typically comprises chemical, physical, and biological pollution.

Biological pollution encompasses bacterial, viral, and parasitic contaminants, which can lead to water pollution and subsequently result in infectious diseases. Consumption or direct contact with polluted water can potentially cause illness. Physical pollution, on the other hand, comprises thermal, and radioactive pollution, while chemical pollution refers to the contamination of organic and inorganic compounds that can cause severe harm to human health, including acute or chronic poisoning, cancer, or genetic mutations. 4

to increase longevity and live a healthy life!

What type of water is considered to be healthy and beneficial?

01 Natural Water
Natural water offers numerous benefits to the human body. It contains essential minerals and nutrients, such as potassium, sodium, calcium, and magnesium, that are important for maintaining overall health and wellness.

02 Freshwater
Freshwater possesses a healthy amount of dissolved oxygen and we should avoid storing it for long periods of time.
03 Safe water
Safe water must meet the requirements of drinking water standards, with a pH value between 6.5 and 8.5.5

04 Healthy water
Healthy water refers to water that is safe and free from harmful contaminants, such as bacteria, viruses, parasites, chemicals, and heavy metals, that can cause health problems.

At Life Solutions, we are dedicated to providing consumers with safe and healthy drinking water!

01 By strictly following industry standards and possessing all certifications to attest to this

All filtration products of Life Solutions have passed CCC (3C) certification, which exceeds the CJ94-2005 Chinese drinking water purification industry standard. Our Billi Quadra, Quadra Plus and Eco models have all obtained the energy efficiency certification of the Global Green Tag gold medal. Global Green Tag is an eco-label and product certification program that provides independent verification of the environmental performance and sustainability of building products, materials, and furnishings. The program is based in Australia and is recognized globally as a leading certification system for sustainable building products.

02 Providing a layer-by-layer filtration system to assure safety

Life Solutions utilizes a high-quality RO reverse osmosis membrane filter element in its water purification equipment. The filter element operates through a multi-layered filtration process with an accuracy of 0.0001 microns, efficiently removing harmful substances like bacteria, viruses, heavy metals, and volatile organic compounds while retaining essential minerals such as potassium, sodium, calcium, and magnesium.

On World Health Day

it is crucial to remember that the consumption of contaminated water over an extended period can pose various hazards to human health. Promoting the health of drinking water shouldn’t just be limited to slogans; it should also raise public awareness and encourage implementation. By choosing Life Solutions, you can have peace of mind that every sip you take is safe and free of contaminants.
