To our dear customers

Let us take a moment to be thankful for our health and the health of our family and friends. Thanksgiving traditions date back to the 17th century and are now celebrated not only in North America, but in many other places around the world as well. Where are the origins of this celebration?

In 1620, 102 European passengers left Plymouth, England aboard the ship Mayflower in search of a new home in the “New World” where they could practice their faith. After more than 60 days of arduous travel against the strong winds of the North Atlantic, they reached the “New Land” at Cape Cod, far north of their actual destination at the mouth of the Hudson River. A month later, the Mayflower crossed into Massachusetts Bay, where they began establishing a village at Plymouth.

During the first winter, half of the travelers died due to contagious diseases and malnutrition. The survivors were saved by a Native American named Squanto, who taught them how to grow corn and catch fish in the surrounding rivers. In November 1621, after the first harvest, the settlers held a feast to which they invited their Native American allies to celebrate the fruitful harvest. The feast lasted three days and thus the first Thanksgiving was born. It was not until 1789 that George Washington issued the first Thanksgiving Proclamation, calling on Americans to express their gratitude for the happy outcome of the country’s War of Independence.

Today, Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday, celebrated with loved ones. The feast today includes a stuffed turkey, cranberry sauce, potatoes and gravy. There are many variations of foods and drinks served on Thanksgiving, but the one thing that cannot be missing is the pure water, so the whole family can stay hydrated and healthy to celebrate many more Thanksgivings!
